Sick

I’ve been feeling pretty under the weather since about 9 on Thursday night, when, as I waited in line at Tito’s Tacos for the delicious Mexican food my wife so craved, I was struck by a particularly violent, let’s call it, gastrointestinal tremor. Like a good husband and manly man, I rode out the epic battle being waged within me and got the aforementioned greasy deliciousness (even though they were out of chicken tamales, which, quite frankly, should be a crime). I made it home safely, my appetite the first casualty in the war. The funny thing about this is that Lindsay was supposed to be the one who wasn’t feeling well and I was merely going to take advantage of the opportunity and enjoy the food. I’ll spare you the details but the rest of the night, following day, accompanying night, and next day, I became well acquainted with our bathroom (it really is quite lovely) and bed.

Only this evening have I started to feel a little like my old self again and I must say that Lindsay is at least partly responsible for my lifted spirits. You see, while I was fighting Saturday afternoon traffic on the 405 (I left some important paperwork on my desk in my office) my wife went out and got me a little present to cheer me up.  Now, I’m not really big on receiving flowers, but in some situations, I can appreciate their inherent ability to brighten one’s day.  This is one of those situations.  And of course, being who I am, I couldn’t help but take some pictures of it.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  Thanks, honey!

I am happy to hear you are feeling better. Linds told me you were REALLY sick, but she didn’t go into detail. I don’t wish that kind of sickness on anyone.

Did she tell you that I love your childhood home? Your mom is adorable and we loved our short time with her.

Valoria, you visited Ryan’s mom? How/when did this happen?

  • Ryan Says:

Please have this conversation on my blog. That would make my week. :)

HaHa. Brian and I drove to Atlanta and stopped and stayed in Mississippi for a night. We both LOVED Ryan’s mom and the house. She completely redid the house and is so proud of her work. I think we should have a Pepperdine reunion in Gulfport when they get back. Not only is the house gorgeous, but so is the entire neighborhood.

You drove from CA to Atlanta?? Well that’s fun that you went to his mom’s house. I’d love to see it one day! A couple years down the road, let’s make it happen!
